The Veriphyl name is a combination of the Latin root words Ver and Veri, meaning true and genuine, and the word phyl, which comes from the word chlorophyll. Veriphyl is a chlorophyll extract originating from fescue grass and is only extracted from edible plant material.
Chlorophyll gives plants their green color. Plants use chlorophyll, along with sunlight, to get their nutrients. By nature, chlorophyll is oil soluble and present in all green leafy vegetables. Chlorophyllin is a water-soluble derivative of natural chlorophyll. It is relatively stable when exposed to heat and light. Consumers may see "copper chlorophyllin” listed as an ingredient on supplement labels.
Some studies suggest that chlorophyll has antioxidant properties and positive impacts on health.*
